The new oil round<br \/>\nseriously endangers life, health, social peace and<br \/>\nintegrity of nature and therefore the nationalities that inhabit the<br \/>\ncenter-south of the Ecuadorian Amazon will not allow the imposition of a<br \/>\nproject that destroys nature, and that puts nationalities at the<br \/>\nedge of genocide.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Assemblies of nationalities and their federations have made several<br \/>\npronouncements expressing their refusal to accept the XI Oil Round,<br \/>\nhowever, the Government insists on announcing that it will hand over the territories<br \/>\nindigenous to oil companies.<\/p>\n<p>The nationalities reject the so-called prior consultation that supposedly<br \/>\nis being carried out by the Hydrocarbons Secretariat because it does not comply<br \/>\nestablished by ILO Convention 169, the Constitution of Ecuador and the<br \/>\nJudgment of the Inter-American Court in the Sarayaku Case. The regulation in<br \/>\nthe one on which the supposed consultation is based has not been done with the participation<br \/>\nof the communities that are going to be consulted, does not seek to reach the<br \/>\nconsent of those consulted, is not free because the<br \/>\npresence of State officials in indigenous territories in<br \/>\nagainst the will of the peoples and nationalities and is not informed<br \/>\nbecause the communities are not given true and real data on the<br \/>\nenvironmental and social impacts of the activity but only propaganda<br \/>\nand attempted division of the families of the communities<\/p>\n<p>We reject the insults and disqualifications made by the President<br \/>\nof the Republic in the Saturday chains against the peoples and<br \/>\nnationalities that are in resistance and their leaders.
