Additionally, it indicates that this year a new round of oil bidding will be held in the south of the Amazon, which corresponds to the territories of 7 indigenous nationalities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Blocks 79 and 83 affect the territories of the Kichwa and Sapara Nationalities, as well as a portion of around six thousand hectares of the territory of the Original Kichwa People of Sarayaku.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sarayaku.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/apus4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2967\" src=\"https:\/\/sarayaku.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/apus4-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"apus4\" width=\"687\" height=\"458\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sarayaku.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/apus4-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sarayaku.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/apus4-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sarayaku.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/apus4-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/sarayaku.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/apus4-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sarayaku.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/apus4-510x340.jpg 510w, https:\/\/sarayaku.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/apus4.jpg 1417w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 687px) 100vw, 687px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Faced with this announcement, we express that our bases have ratified their position of defense of their territory against oil activities. We are not going to allow oil companies to enter our territory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We denounce the breach by the State of the right to free, prior and informed consultation enshrined in the Constitution of Ecuador and in international human rights instruments. No consultation was carried out in accordance with international human rights standards. Hardly any \u201csocializations\u201d were carried out among a few people and communities addicted to the Government, to whom the impacts of the oil activity were not explained, but only propaganda was offered.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Ecuadorian Government has failed to comply with the provisions of the ruling in the Sarayaku vs. Ecuador case, since at no time has the right to prior free and informed consultation been regulated, with the participation of the Nationalities and Indigenous Peoples, Sarayaku has not been consulted despite that the new concession directly affects their territory and the explosives that the CGC company left planted in the Sarayaku territory when it attempted to carry out seismic exploration have not been removed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the other hand, blocks 79 and 83 cover a large part of the territory of the Sapara Nationality, which is recognized by UNESCO, as\u00a0<strong>\u201cMasterpiece of the Cultural and Intangible Heritage of Humanity\u201d<\/strong>;
