The nearly 30 members that make up the Sarayaku Sports Club team start their participation against the Cumandá team in the provincial dispute to access the two final quotas that are disputed between around 450 teams nationwide and whose final results will be seen in the month of next December.
The Sarayaku Sports Club was formed in April 2014 with the aim of transmitting the proposals for life and defense of the Jungle of the Original Kichwa People of Sarayaku, and since then it has been strengthening itself with national reinforcements (mainly from the province of emeralds).
Eriberto Gualinga, President of the Club, believes that "to start this season we find ourselves with a better preparation in relation to the previous year because the team has carried out a 3-month pre-season".
However, in order for the Sarayaku Sports Club to achieve its objectives of strengthening the message of protecting the jungle, it is necessary, according to Eriberto Gualinga, for the team to obtain financial support from sponsors and people, companies or organizations related to the issue.
