VI Congress of the Original Kichwa People of Sarayaku
The Government Council of the Original Kichwa People of Sarayaku, strictly adhering to the current statute, convenes the VI Sumak Kawsay Congress to be held on April 25, 26, 27 and 28 of this year. In this congress, the leaders, Kurakas, coordinators of the different projects and programs and the technical, legal and financial teams will present, before the people of Sarayaku, the reports of the two years of their management. In addition, essential issues such as the Sumak Kawsay Plan, the true proposal for plurinationality, the concept and categorization of Kawsak Sacha, Living Forest from the perspective of the Original Kichwa Peoples, will be discussed. On Sunday, at the end of the Congress, the new authorities of the Town will be elected, who will be directing their Town, under the principles of Sumak Allpa, Sacha Runa Yachay and Runakuna Kawsay and the philosophy of Kawsak Sacha.
