INVITATION TO THE LIVE TRANSMISSION OF THE HEARING ON MONITORING COMPLIANCE WITH THE JUDGMENT GIVEN BY THE INTER-AMERICAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE CASE OF THE KICHWA INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF SARAYAKU VS ECUADOR.
More than four years have passed since the ruling on the Sarayaku Case was issued, declaring the Ecuadorian State responsible for the violation of the rights to prior free and informed consultation, to indigenous communal property and to cultural identity, to the detriment of the Indigenous People. Sarayaku Kichwa.
This diligence is transcendental because in it the Original Kichwa People of Sarayaku will present updated information to the judges of the Inter-American Court on the breaches of the sentence by the State of Ecuador, such as the removal of the explosives planted by the CGC oil company in territory of Sarayaku and the regulation of the exercise of the right to free and informed prior consultation for extractive projects in indigenous territories in accordance with international human rights standards.
Therefore, the Kichwa People of Sarayaku, the Human Rights Center of the Catholic University and the Observatory of Constitutional Justice are pleased to invite you to the live broadcast of the hearing that will be held at the headquarters of the Inter-American Court in the city. from San Jose, Costa Rica.
