This Wednesday, December 2, the Sarayaku delegation participated in the panel on "THE VISION OF THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLES TO DEAL WITH CLIMATE CHANGE" in the Climate Generations Space, Nelson Mandela auditorium, in the presence of an audience of more than five hundred people, anthropologists, and recognized scientists. The women and family leader, Mrs. Ena Santi explained the effects of climate change on the life of her people and the deep suffering of indigenous women in the process of defending their territory. The president of Sarayaku, Mr. Félix Santi presented the proposal Kawsak Sacha-Living Jungle and insisted on the importance of respecting, perpetuating and applying the ancestral knowledge of native peoples to respond to climate problems. After several interventions. the leaders of indigenous peoples of the world suggested returning to the origin of the living being and the vision of life that is articulated with Nature and Mother Earth to face the crisis of climate change.
On the same day, in the morning, the president of the Confenaie, Mr. Franco Viteri, supporting the people of Sarayaku, the base of the Confenaie, delivered the Kawsak Sacha proposal to the Elysée palace, president François Hollande.
