Sarayaku, April 18, 2012. The Governing Council of TAYJASARUTA and the Kichwa People of Sarayaku prepare the last details for the visit of the delegation of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IA Court), to be held on April 21, 2012 at the House of the People's Assembly Originally Kichwa from Sarayaku.
During the current week, national and international invitations have been sent to accompany Sarayaku on the day of the visit.
A great minga has been held in the town to prepare for the historic and unprecedented visit of the Inter-American Court. A giant screen was installed to ensure that all attendees can follow the event, young people and children have painted "the noon town house" expressing various themes of the Sumak kawsay and the leaders are mobilized in Puyo and Quito to give statements to the media and receive the Inter-American Court.
At the same time, the logistics and coordination aspects are being prepared for around 500 people who will attend the event. A successful day is expected to be held, in order to obtain a favorable sentence for the Kichwa People of Sarayaku and for the peoples and nationalities of the world.
It is worth noting that the event is established and financed entirely with Sarayaku's own self-management, through the solidarity contribution of local, national and international organizations and entities sensitive to the cause of the indigenous movement.
