Agreements and resolutions of the great Ordinary Assembly of the Kichwa people of Sarayaku

On the 9th day of December 2012, this resolutory act takes place within the framework of the great ordinary assembly of the Original Kichwa People of Sarayaku, chaired by the Government Council of Sarayaku (TAYJASARUTA), management May 2011-2013.
Gathered in the noon house, the active members of the Original Kichwa People of Sarayaku, legitimate defenders of the kawsak sacha "living jungle",
CONSIDERING:
That the defenders of the rights of the indigenous peoples and of nature of the Original Kichwa People of Sarayaku, "descendants of the jaguar" and legitimate heirs of this territory under the worldview of the original peoples, of the ancestral knowledge left by our grandparents and Tayak grandmothers, connoisseurs of the language of stones, rivers, mountains of the "living jungle" since time immemorial,
Concerned about the non-compliance by the State with the Judgment of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, finally made known to the world on July 25, 2012 after almost 10 years of international litigation, paying profound tribute to more than 30 years of permanent struggle and resistance under the legacy of former leaders, men and women leaders, kurakas, yachaks against extractive projects that threaten the tranquility of the peoples,
That the life plan of the Kichwa People of Sarayaku excludes all types of oil activity in their territory,
Faced with the latent threat implied by the XI Oil Round once the call that began the oil tender on November 28, 2012 was made official by the State, in an illegitimate and unconstitutional manner through lower order mechanisms imposing a supposed process to apply the consultation, free and informed,
RESOLVES:
- Declare the territory of the Original Kichwa People of Sarayaku “Kawsak Sacha”, Living Forest as the living space for all beings, considered an exclusion zone for oil activity.
- Kawsak Sacha's proposal will be complemented with the criteria of the yachak of this assembly.
- Ratify the resolution signed in Playas on October 6, 2012 in the framework of the "Kawsaymanda Tandary" meeting by the highest authorities of the Bobonaza communities with a resounding NO to oil activity and a YES to life.
- Hold a meeting with the authorities of the Parish Board, the Kichwa Coordination Council, Carlos Viteri, former Executive Secretary of ECORAE and current candidate for National Assemblyman for Alianza País, and the Governing Council of TAYJASARUTA to report on Sarayaku's position regarding the XI Oil Round, as well as the illegitimate process of supposed prior, free and informed consultation.
