Seismic mesh of the Block 23 project – CGC
In the Sarayaku territory there are still 1400 kilograms of pentolite buried in the subsoil, which represents a serious threat to the life and integrity of people and Nature. The Inter-American Court of Human Rights ruled, condemning and ordering: “the State must neutralize, deactivate and, where appropriate, remove all” of said explosives. On the other hand, the State projects planting new explosives in ancestral territories, which shows a serious contradiction and the repetition of the damage already caused, in clear violation of the sentence of the Inter-American Court

According to the study report of the seismic prospecting program proposed for Block 23, by the CGC company, the seismic lines extended to 633,425 km, distributed in 17 lines oriented mainly north-south and east-west, in a block of 200,000 hectares of surface.
